This morning I woke up incredibly aroused. It was the kind of feeling that occurs right before, or right after great sex. I don't remember exactly what I dreamt. All I know is I took a long time for me to leave my sleep and enter the world again, and when I did, the feeling was overwhelming.
As a married woman, sex should be no problem. It should be like water in the fridge. Available at any time and yet, that isn't always the case. This is when I thought of you, of us in general, and how we handle this stuff. I am sure we have all had moments when we were left wanting. Waiting for that release, touch, moment. Wishing for sex.
So what's the best way to go about this? The biggest problem for me is the moment it becomes cerebral. I'm a highly analytical Virgo. I think a lot about every thing. All day long. The moment I have to think about sex, I'm over it. I want to be taken away. Lead. Shown. Sex for me isn't in the brain. It's in the heart, it's in the feeel of it. It's not that I don't know what to do or how to do it. It's just that in my day to day life I call a lot of the shots. I designed it that way. Sex is one area, I'd like to relinquish control.
I think a lot of women are like me. A lot of us aren't thrown into orgasmic fits by just looking at something. A lot of us can and will rock the worlds of our partners but don't want to call the shots in bed. I mean, outside of a porn star or dominatrix, how many women have you known or spoken to that do?
Perhaps this is all too much. Too personal. I apologize in advance if it seems left field but Tee-riffic is about living our best life and the various paths taken in experiencing that. I'll be damned if sex is not part of it. I wondered, how many other women feel like me? How many men?
This morning, I tried to convey my aroused state to my hubby. I told him. He then seemed perplexed and more concerned at what I could've dreamt about. It was like an episode of "Up All Night." Real. Mundane. Comical. Slightly frustrating.
What could I have done differently? What is a way, we can convey what we like or want without running the whole session? Hurting our partners feelings? Or turning it into, GASP, a chat session?
In all fairness, I am sure there have been many times I have left my husband wanting. This is not about him being a problem. This is about starting a dialogue about what we like and what we want. So then we could start to get it.
Sexy dream or not.

Museum fun. L.A. Culture.
In my last L.A. Culture post, I told you about some great things you could do, and had expressed there were a couple more things I would write about once I'd visited them. Well here they are! During this holiday season, you may be concerned about spending extra money to go out or you may find yourself overwhelmed by the holiday to-do's. Hopefully neither of those is the case for you, but if so, you can rest assured that outings to these locations will not only be easy on your wallet but they will be easy on your time schedule as well.
The first is The Skirball Center:
What attracted my attention was their "Women hold Up Half The Sky" exhibit. I had passed by Skirball many times but finally had my first visit recently when this exhibit peaked my interest. I really loved the whole museum especially their method of creating the exhibits. So fun! I loved being taken away to the times and places depicted. For those interested and able, you can visit the entire museum for FREE on Thursdays. It's a lovely space perfect for all ages. There is also a cafe and gift shop along with a fabulous range of exhibits all made incredibly interesting by allowing you to interact with and / or enjoy the information with their signage, displays, and media. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy:
The second recommendation is The Getty Villa:
This spectacular museum is located in Malibu, which will provide a delight on the way there and back as you will be greeted by delicious views of the ocean. Admission is always FREE (you print out your timed entry ticket online & pay $15 for parking.) This space is filled with antiquities dating back as far as 200 BC. They have gorgeous grounds, dazzling statues, and media along with exhibits and interactive tours for you to enjoy. There is a cafe that serves organic foods, a coffee stand, and you can even order a glass of wine or beer if you'd like. My favorite thing was the ability to touch a gorgeous marble statue of Venus. I had never experienced anything like it. Imagine the feel of a human body made out of marble! She felt so real... Here are some pictures. I hope you like them!
I hope you have enjoyed these glimpses of the Skirball Center and Getty Villa. Tell me, are there any museums you like? Which are your favorite and why? If you find yourself going to either of these, I would love to hear what you thought. Thanks for reading, until the next time, BIG hugs.

Magazines. Oh The POWER!
I have been a lover of fashion magazines for as long as I could remember. Growing up, they were a bit of a luxury. But as a teenager, once I was able to score my mags, our love affair was sealed! Fashion magazines showed me a world I could only dream about. Far off places, unmistakable beauty. Riches displayed via clothing and other material items hinting at an amazing world. A world where adventure, health, beauty, was not only possible but THRIVING! I know this is where my love of photography, fashion, style, and beauty was born. These are things that still bring me great joy.
My first dream ever, was to be a supermodel. I have since been blessed to experience a piece of that dream. My very 1st passport stamp was provided when I was flown out to the Bahamas for a swimsuit shoot and runway show. As for my latest modeling bit, a feature in FHM Malaysia coming January 2012!
That aside, which one of us, woman or man, hasn't seen something in a magazine that just held our breath for a minute? That amazing article of clothing you just know you'd stop traffic with, that gorgeous model's body, that ultra cool gadget, or amazing home you just see yourself living in.
There are people that say that magazines are bad. That they depict things that are impossible. Visions unattainable by most. To that, I say boo.
Who's to say what's attainable and for whom?
My preferred subscriber status not only gives me amazing deals on my beloved subscriptions but also ensures that each month, treasures will be delivered into my mailbox. Pages of dreams, aspirations, knowledge, and beauty. Yeah, I have yet to buy my $1,000 pair of shoes or safari in Africa, but as I look back I see a whole world of stuff no one but me thought I'd be able to do. Who's to say I will not accomplish these? ;)
I am sure you too have done some amazing things. So let's get on with our bad selves and make "it" happen. I'm right here if you wanna tell me about it. Now, back to my magazine....

Time outs, no corner necessary...
On my bed, trapper hat ON (what, I'm cold) books and mags at my side, an awesome brownie I am eating in stages like Charlie Bucket from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and my Macbook. I am currently unwinding by perusing facebook, uploading a new picture to some of my sites, eating said brownie, and I will also flip though my mags, and maybe round things out with TV via Netflix. This is me having a time out. Earlier today, I enjoyed a day at a museum. I am not going in to full detail on this because I plan on writing separately about that in another post that will have offerings for you to enjoy if you live here in L.A. Anyway...time outs rock! They are not just for misbehaving toddlers, I find them crucial in maintaining my sanity. It's great to break the norm and reset. Recharge is more like it. Surely, this particular time out has me on my computer but I'm enjoying it in a different way than I usually do, so you see? If you are interested in a time out, there are no rules, just do whatever it is you feel would take you away from your daily routine and give you a chance to experience some of the following:
Relaxation - Joy - Peace - Inspiration - Solace - Empowerment - Relief- etc..
You get what I'm talking about right?
Maybe you feel like you can't take the time, you don't have the space or money. Well, I can assure you that I have transformed my bathroom into a spa using nothing more than items I already had in stock under the sink or in the kitchen! I've taken time away utilizing my imagination and an iPhone app, freebies also include taking a long walk, writing, or even just laying down with nothing more on your mind than breathing in and out. If you would like me to go into further detail on any of these methods I will be more than happy to share them with you. If you have a suggestion, I would love to hear from you. Tell me, what do you do to time out? Does this help you? Are you new to this concept? What do you think?
May the Om be with you... :)

Culturally cool stuff in Los Angeles....
Hello loves, I know it's been a while. I've been living and learning. Trying new things and spending time on my craft of acting, spending time crafting my life, my vision. I am enjoying new foods, places, and examining lifestyles that are new to me too. I love to learn and I firmly believe that learning every day keeps me vibrant and alive. Plus, I find it really fun.
In the process of doing new things I've come across some things I'd like to recommend. There is only 1 item on this list you cannot go and do but I am going to include some pics so you can enjoy a little bit of what I've seen. Ok, here it goes!
MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE: I just went there today for the first time and was not only moved but educated on how bigotry affects all people across the world even today. You can learn about the holocaust, about things that have gone on in the beginning of our nation, our recent past, and that are going on now. I found it very enlightening and thought provoking. I was also stoked because I found something I had wanted for quite some time.
BEAUTY CULTURE: I visited this FREE exhibit last week and was totally inspired and educated by it. There were so many interesting perspectives to be considered. Great photography, artistry through makeup, and the dark side of our beauty perceptions and how we feel pressured to strive towards those ideals. The space is stunning and won't take up your whole day. Plus, all you have to pay for is parking. Get validated to reduce the cost of that ( to less than 5 dollars.) :)
TIM BURTON EXHIBIT LACMA: This was my Halloween treat. I have loved Tim Burton's work and have seen almost every movie he has ever been involved with. I have also seen some of his shorts.. Not only was I glad to have a happy Halloween due to this, but the fact Halloween was the last day of the exhibit, only made it more special for me. The link provided above will let you enjoy quite a bit and hopefully some of the photos below will too....
This week I am going to enjoy another museum for the first time. There is an exhibit there that I am very excited to see, I don't recommend things unless I have done them personally so I will let you know how that one pans out once I attend. Hopefully you enjoy some of the great places listed above. A couple others I have been to and liked are The Getty Center & The La Brea Tar Pits.
Here's to learning, art, inspiration, and broadening our horizons. Big love!!! xo

Selfish, stupid, what are they called again? Kids.
There are many times I'll have the absolutely normal HUMAN overwhelmed, angry, disappointed thought. When these times come, I put into practice the things I have learned and try sometimes with greater ease than others, to make them go away. Then there are times when I'm just human. Not enlightened enough to get passed things that bother me. You know what I'm talking about right? This is one of those times.
Months ago my son left our home. Since than many things have occured. I thought we had made great progress. A phone call that birthed a visit with him here at home and the resolution to keep in touch. I kept up my part of the bargain. Texting, calling.. Then, I said something he didn't like. Questioning him on absences from school. Apparently that was cause for him to banish me from his world. No phone call, text, email back. As connected as we are these days it is easy to disconnect oneself and so he did. I chalked it up to teenage angst. Breathe, let it go.
Today I receive a call from the school nurse. He has a sprain. Has had it since Wednesday. They've approved temporary insurance. Mind you I knew nothing about any of it until today's call. I answered all questions, cooperated, but then of course the truth came out. Who had signed the forms??? Upon my son's lies and the school's inability to follow protocol, suddenly a dilemma emerged. I am left now angry and frustrated. So many needless calls and too many resources for what could have been taken care of easily.
Reading this, I realize it's just a little drama. A daily soap opera if you will. Things always seem more important than they are. We will all survive. There's just that pain. That pain of being human. The hurt that comes from being there for someone no matter what and having them reject you. The anger of being bothered with the aftermath of that. You wanna be grown, be grown. Work it out. Speak up. Ask for what you need. Take that responsibility. Instead, you just want to be "grown" in the sense that you're not home but still lying, cheating, relying on whoever you can, manipulating, putting people out. It's disheartening. That's not what I taught. That's not who I am. I do not recognize or identify with it. :(
A brilliant acting class I attended this week posed a question that is perfect for this occasion. How do we have empathy for those things we do not understand? All I can say is, I'm working on it.

Health Care in the U.S.. Tee-riffic? Or not.
I normally do not take on such charged subjects. It easily turns into a knowledge fair where one person's facts condemn another persons experience. However, I find myself typing this tonight with a neck brace on. BenGay, Ibuprofen, and Heating Pad at my nightstand. This after two Chiropractor visits, a call for help to medical officials that happen to be in my family, and eventually a cry for help via Twitter that led me to a massage therapist. I mean, is all of this necessary???
Turns out I have a pinched nerve. :( I am still feeling it's effects (hence the neck brace and other goodies previously mentioned.) Lots of things in my life could have caused this and it could happen to anyone. What's crazy is the "let's try this and wait and see" methods. Then there's the retail approach to medicine that really chaps my hyde. It's like you should know what you wanna do about your problem when you see someone. There is no tell me how you feel and let me tell you how to fix it. Each person I have talked to, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, as well as the info online has their own theory on methods that could be used, every one, toting their specialty as the best thing. In the end, I believe as humans we just want health and freedom from ailments, pains, symptoms, etc. All we want is the answer. Shoot, I don't specialize in healing... Who has the answer?
Am I writing this just to vent? Yes and no. I wonder how many of us are going through this. Do any of you feel this? Are you going through something like this now? Insurance or no insurance? Does that help or hinder you? These may seem like very personal questions but I think the sooner we get over that discomfort in talking about these things, the sooner we will be more comfortable demanding what we deserve. Health, energy, vitality, quality food, and quality healthcare.
I am going to continue to nurse my pinched nerve. I am not a Dr. but will gladly share with you the methods I have pursued.. This pinched nerve is terrible. I don't wish it on anyone. Plus, I am always willing to help people with resources, answers, or just some good old TLC. Remember, I'm not a Dr. I am not giving you medical advice. I'm just sharing with you, my journey and some of the resources I've used. So here it goes....
The Massage Place Went to them today. Awesome. I am not fully healed but I would recommend to anyone living in the greater Los Angeles area. Inexpensive quality massages. Open long hours. Clean comfortable facility, and great staff. I will be seeing them again. Sooooon.
CVS I'm now addicted to this place. They have lots of great products, self checkout, and you rack up rewards with your purchases. Not just coupons but cash back!! Nice. They are open late, some 24hrs. All my supplies came from there.
Chiropractor. Dr. Ed Simon. 30 yrs in practice. Friendly man & staff. Uses different techniques to heal. Didn't quite do it for me. Not sure whether that is due to my condition or his methods. **Update 10/15/11: I called due to onset of new symptoms and based on his response, I am thinking this Dr. is only interested in gaining money by making you a lifetime patient. I have removed his link, and would advise others to be cautious if considering him.
I went to speak with an Acupuncturist but have not seen him yet so I am not going to give that info at this time. If it happens, I'll let you know.
Time for me to lay down.. Thanks for reading. Love and health to you.
